  • Academic Scholars Offered in Middle Schools

As part of our mission to educate and empower all students to be college and career ready graduates, a strengthened and highly rigorous program for our high-achieving students has been implemented at the middle school level. This program, known as the Academic Scholars Program, began in the 2014-2015 school year. Academic Scholars Program provides a framework of learning which encourages students to become creative, critical, and reflective thinkers.

Offered in all four academic classes in the 6th and 7th grades for the 2015-2016 school year, and adding 8th grade in the 2016-2017 school year, the Academic Scholars Program provides intellectual and creative challenges to help students become skilled problem solvers and critical thinkers. In addition, the program incorporates project-based learning to give hands-on opportunities for students to learn, fostering the development of skills for communication, understanding, and team building, qualities that are essential for life in the 21st century.

    Dear Parents and Legal Guardians,

    Back Pack

Please be advised that as a result of the action taken by our TCSS Board of Education clear and/or mesh back packs are not required for the 2015-2016 school year. We do prefer that you invest in this item but we understand that they are difficult to find at times and they are not as resistant and durable as other back packs.
Also, as you go shopping for school supplies please remember that we have a very specific dress code. We have posted our Dress Code policy on our website in the Parent Info section (see the menu at the top of this page) under Important Information for you to easily print when you take your child shopping for school clothes.
Thank you for your assistance and diligence and we hope you enjoy the remainder of your summer with your children.
